Meme time again. What?! It's a memey week!
Snaffled from
ebonystar. I may be rubbish at reading and commenting on your fic at the moment, but I am still listening...
**Edited to add new questions after I got tagged with a similar meme by
alba17**
1. Who sleeps in bed next to you?
Mr G usually sleeps to one side of me. Next to my head is always this guy

minlliw and her hubby got him for me a couple of years ago. I watched the film when I was off work sick for three months in 2007 and fell in love with him. They got him to look after me.
2. Have you ever lied to a teacher to get out of a deadline?
Probably. Not so much to teachers these days since the only one that I know is a member of my family, but more to work people.
3. What are you reading right now?
The Wasp Factory by Iain Banks. I read it years ago - I borrowed it as a result of one of the first conversations I had with Mr G when we first met. However, I'd forgotten how awesome it was. The back cover summary has a quote, which reads
Two years after I killed Blyth I murdered my young brother Paul, for quite different and more fundamental reasons than I'd disposed of Blyth, and then a year after that I did for my young cousin Esmerelda, more or less on a whim. That's my score to date. Three. I haven't killed anybody for years, and don't intend to ever again. It was just a stage I was going through.
Its twisted normality and evocative descriptions are captivating.
4. What's your occupation?
Professional senior healthcare bureaucrat.
5. What do you hate right now?
Myself, mostly.
6. Who is your celebrity crush?
I have gone through most of my life without crushing on celebrities at all, preferring instead to become girlish over people I know in real life. However, I currently have an unhealthy obsession with Zachary Quinto in all his forms [
terraswrath, if you're reading this, I watched Episode 13 of Season 3 of Heroes last night and you were so right - Sexy predatory Sylar is ZOMG sexy] seconded only by the way Chris Pine makes my insides go all gooey with his pretty eyes and his gravity-defying behind. Put them both together and I'm done for. I feel so shallow.
7. What's your current fandom/obsession/addiction?
RPF of the two boys listed above features pretty highly. I went through a spate of doing battle with certain Torchwood fans who believe that RTD is homophobic and the series is heteronormative. But I'm leaving that, and most of that fandom, behind me now.
8. What are you listening to right now?
General office noise.
9. What food could you eat every day for weeks and not get sick of?
Thai Tom Yam soup and steamed rice.
10. What websites do you always visit when you go online?
LiveJournal, Twitter (only recently, but now totally hooked), Facebook, BBC News website. I have most of my regular websites [Richard Herring's blog, Speak You're Branes and Simmspotting delivered by the magic of RSS feed into my inbox.
11. What are you going to do next year?
Not a clue. Next question?
12. What was the cutest thing you've seen today?
It's not been a day full of cute. It's been a day full of work. Work doesn't have cuteness.
13. Does the weather affect your mood?
If it rains and rains for weeks on end, I tend to get a little gloomy and apathetic. I'm more deeply affected by the seasons, though. I need daylight to function.
14. What is your zodiac sign?
Pisces, for what it's worth. I'm exceptionally Aspergers-like about putting any faith in anything that can't be proven by double-blind randomised controlled clinical trials. It makes me irrationally angry
15. Do you want to learn another language?
I'd like to speak Welsh properly rather than the pidgeon-bits I have. I'd also like to speak Spanish. I'm rubbish at learning languages, though. My inner perfectionist and overdeveloped sense of shame means I can't let myself practice because I'm mortified about getting it wrong and either offending people or having them laugh at me.
16. 5 things you can't live without.
Mr G, laptop, music, iPhone [not even just any mobile now. I'm totally converted], some form of visual correction [if not contacts then specs. I can't see shiz without them].
17. If you could meet anyone now, who would you meet?
I hate these questions. They say you should never meet your heroes, so that rules out a vast swathe of people. I'd quite like to get together with
minlliw. It's been too long.
18. What's something you'd like to say to someone right now?
It doesn't matter what I say to explain the way I feel. You're completely incapable of walking in someone else's shoes.
19. What are you looking forward to?
Going to Vietnam in November/December
20. Say something to the person who tagged you:
No-one did. I tagged myself. And to myself I say "get back to work already. What is wrong with you? Seriously!"
**And now, freshly added**
Lots of pillows or just one?
Two. One hollowfibre, one goosefeather. Nuff info for you? ;)
What kind of books do you read?
Novels mostly. Particular penchant for dark fiction such as Poppy Z Brite and Iain Banks.
What are your most awesome skills?
Finding the innuendo in absolutely anything.
What's really creepy?
Echoey childrens choirs in horror films. Think It, or Lost Boys. That and carousel music in the same context.
What's your current fandom/obsession/addiction?
Fandom: Too many to list, but currently mostly Pinto RPF.
Obsession: I have OCD issues. Again, too many to list.
Addiction: the internet.
What flavor ice cream would you choose right now?
I wouldn't, I don't think. My favourite is probably caramel swirl, though
What was the last thing you bought?
A ton of pick 'n' mix at the cinema last night
What do you do to relax? Take a long bath with my iPod on random in the dock and a book in my hands.
Do you get cravings? If so, what do you crave?
Not really.
What do you do to change your mood? Watch a comedy. Get more sleep.

Vietnam trip sounds fascinating. That Iain Banks book sounds interesting.
Mesmerized by your mood icon..that looks like Russell Tovey, but who's the other guy? oh, it's the guy who played Tully.
