1. Where did your LJ handle come from?
I wanted to be a Smutmonkey, but there already was one. I just combined words for smut and words for being until I found one that I liked and wasn't already taken.
2. How do you style your hair?
Depends. I have longish hair, so sometimes up, sometimes down. I have hair that is happy to be straight or curly, so I wear it both ways depending on how I feel. I tend to wear it up if I'm wearing glasses and down if I'm wearing contacts. Not really sure why.
3. What is making you happy right now?
In spite of the fact I can taste nothing else in the world right now, I can taste my cup of chai.
4. What are you currently reading?

5. Do you need music to study/write?
I listen to my unPod a lot at work to drown out the background office drone. I'm happy to write with music or in silence, but if there's a conversation I am somehow hard-wired to listen to it, so if people in the office are chatting around me I pop in the earbuds and listen to tunes.

7. What was your first hair dye job?
I've used colours to beef up my own natural colour since I was about 12, but my first dramatic dye job was when I was 20. It was supposed to be dark, it came out the colour of stewed rhubarb. Seriously, bright bright pink.
8. What was the last thing you laughed at? [replacing "who do you have a crush on"? because, apart from Mr G, I don't have any current active crushes, unusually for me]
This spoof article about particle physics. Seriously, I giggled at it for ten minutes without pausing for breath. The dork is strong with this one. Oh yes.
9. What is your favorite movie genre?
Vampire movies. Real ones, though, not candy-coated teenage fanwank ones. Underworld, Blade, hell even the Buffy movie was entertaining. But I'd rather poke out both my eyes with splintered sticks than watch Twilight.
10. What was the last thing you ate today?
A packet of salt and vinegar Snack-a-Jacks
11. Would you rather be a corrupted priest or a corrupted cop?
Cop. Every time. Then I could be a dirty little cop girl *ahem*
12. What websites do you visit daily?
LJ, Facebook, BBC News, Metafilter
13. What's your favorite food?
I don't really have one. When I like a type of food or a particular meal, I eat it flat out non stop for about a fortnight, then get bored and move on to something else. Right now I don't really like anything because none of it tastes of anything. Stupid sinuses.
14. Which languages do you wish you spoke?
Welsh [properly, rather than the snippets I can speak], Spanish.
15. What is your biggest pet peeve?
People who are bigoted, intolerant or narrow-minded. Oh, and people who don't understand how roundabouts work.

Dangermouse.
18. Where would you like your next holiday to be?
Vietnam.
19. What is your favorite chocolate from a box of chocolates?
One with a caramel centre. All the better if the caramel's a little bit salty.
