Went to the casting. They basically took my details (fine), measured me (embarrassing) and took my pic before sending me on my way. I was number 390, so I don't hold out much hope. Gotta be in it to win it :)

The concept sounds cool, though. The film's called Dagenham Girls and is about the women of the Dagenham Ford car plant in the '30s who went on strike when they were classified as unskilled.

On my way out, I noticed the pub next door.

It was all I could do to stop myself going in looking for Shaun and Ed. It was in Merthyr, mind, so I don't know if you could tell zombies from the locals if I'm honest :p

I was feeling pretty washed out yesterday, so I took the best medicine I could find. I watched Zoolander. That film just makes me grin uncontrollably. How is Ben Stiller that awesome? And why is Owen Wilson attractive? I can't figure out what it is about him, but I so would. I mean, just look at them:

Awesome.

In other news, I'm off to a casting this evening for a film that's being shot nearby. It's just for a background role, and the casting will probably involve filling in a form and having a mugshot taken. However, if they decide to use me it will just involve being paid and fed for a day whilst doing something I would happily do for free. Bonus.

And finally, I've discovered when I will be seeing Star Trek next. It's going to be... wait for it... at midnight on the 25th June, in my sleeping bag, under the stars, in a field at Glastonbury! I know it makes me one of the saddest human beings alive, but I'm currently more excited about that than seeing the bands or any of the other fun stuff there is to do over five whole days at the festival.

Fangeek out.

I always do a character study for any characters that I'm playing. It helps me to get into part if I'm clear on the background for the character, and the times that I've taken time to do this I've generally felt better about my performances than when I've spent scant time concentrating on developing a history for my character, or done the work then just put it aside. I've started from the information about the character in the script, then filled in the blanks.

A synopsis of the play is here

I shall try posting again. I've already lost what I spent half an hour writing last time because apparently my internet dropped out whilst I was busily tappity tapping away. *sigh*. Here goes...

Happy days are here again )

Whilst everything in my life seems to be making me disconcertingly happy at the moment, there is a hefty amount of woe going on amongst my f-listers: illness, stress and domestic strife. I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm thinking about you and squeezing as many of my good vibes at you as will fit down my internet tubes *group hug*
