I am gradually working through my drabble prompts. If you're requested something and you've not seen it yet, I will get to you, I promise.
This batch I decided to take those requests for State of Play, to celebrate the placing of the horse of the same name in the top four after I bet on him yesterday at the Grand National. Well that, and hopefully to generate some others to think about writing fic in this fandom to ease the pain of the godawful Hollywood parody that's due out in a couple of weeks...
Pairing: Stephen Collins/Cal McCaffrey
Rating: R
Prompt:
karaokegal asked for this pairing, and gave the prompt "Lost in a Lonely World"
He'd deserved better, Cal knew that. Sitting around, waiting until Stephen condescended to return his calls or deigned to grace him with a hurried snatch of his company. A quick fuck at Cal's flat, usually; urgent, needy, Stephen could never be seen to be visited by a hack, after all.
All Cal's other relationships had turned to shit, making excuses to countless women to explain his erratic behaviour at Stephen's beck and call. It was always on Stephen's terms. Letting Stephen treat him this way had left him alone. Alone and lost, now Cal knew there was no way back.
Pairing: Cal McCaffrey/Dan Foster
Rating: PG 13
Prompt: for this pairing,
xanium wanted "persuade me".
“You're married?” Cal asked with a touch of incredulity.
“Yes, I'm married. What makes that such an incomprehensible concept? I mean, I know I'm quite young, but...”
Cal cut Dan off before he could finish. “It's not your age. I just thought you were, y'know, gay.”
A lopsided smirk spread across Dan's lips, and assuming a coquettish tilt of the head looked sidelong at Cal. “And that disappoints you, does it?”
The flirtatious gaze caused a flicker of something strangely exciting in Cal's stomach.”Well” Dan started “I may be married but I'm not beyond persuasion.”
Pairing: Cal McCaffrey/Stephen Collins
Rating: R
Prompt:
candesgirl asked for this pairing, using the prompt "dirty little thing".
There were things in Stephen's life of which he wasn't proud. His job kept him away from his family most of the time, and his ambition meant he couldn't ever see that changing. His affair with Sonia was almost inevitable: he knew the life he'd created for himself had led to him to this point and he would gladly admit that.
What he couldn't confess, even to himself, was none of those things really mattered. Only Cal, kneeling willingly before him, groaning as Stephen eased inside him. Their dirty little thing, the only time Stephen felt like himself at all.

Date: 2009-04-06 02:43 am (UTC)These are all pitch-perfect and smoldering with tension, and I thought you did a really good job capturing Dan's voice, flirty and even a touch insecure. Brilliant stuff, thank you!
