I've been almost entirely consumed with lust enthusiasm for my fantastic new fandom obsession to the point of forgetting to eat and sleep and stuff and I feel I need to re-focus on real life excitement for a moment. And that excitement comes in the form of the fact that in three weeks and six days I will be arriving at Worthy Farm in Somerset for... The Glastonbury Festival!

The line-up came out on Monday, and I've now had time to consider it properly. There are going to be some hard choices, but I am very much looking forward to the following people, in some kind of roundabout order of importance:

Blur *squees until giddy*
Spinal Tap
Maximo Park
Jarvis Cocker
Beardyman
Mr Scruff
Fleet Foxes
Tom Jones
Tony Christie
Breakfast with Howard Marks
Metric
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds [although I know that if I give in and go see him again, I will end up wanting to fuck him senseless even though I know it's WRONG, goddamnit!]

There are hundreds and hundreds more here and if anyone sees someone they know is good and wants to make a recommendation then put it out there.

OFMG I'm jealous! Argh I wish some good festivals would come here with more than one act I actually want to see. Normally the festivals here only really have one good band (imo) playing and I can't be bothered blowing that much money on one band if I cbf seeing the rest.

Mmm Nick Cave. There's a Nick Cave exhibition on at the history museum right now, it's pretty cool :D

(PS: Aren't you scared of IT seeing your LJ? :P)

I saw Nick Cave in Birmingham last year and seriously, I wanted to fuck him through the floor. Pictures do nowt for me but as soon as he swaggered on stage with his shirt open to the waist, I think I got caught in his testosterone beam :p

As for work seeing my LJ, I've cut right back and mostly use my iPhone to browse. But I don't mind posting about music squee in my lunch hour. If they didn't want me to look at LJ at all they'd have blocked it like all the other social networking sites!

OMG. Nick Cave. Fleet Foxes. *looking at list* Regina Spektor. Gabriella Cilmi. The Streets. Jason Mraz. Badly Drawn Boy. Franz Ferdinand. The Prodigy. Echo and the Bunnymen. FUCK. I wish I could go to this. (Or that I lived closer to somewhere with better music festivals.)

I definitely rec Echo and the Bunnymen. And I am jealous of you.

I just hope the weather holds out. Glastonbury is something of a legend for being washed-out and waterlogged.

I don't really mind, though. It'll still be awesome. I'll keep my eye out for Echo and the Bunnymen. Thanks for the rec :)

I've seen Tom Jones three times in concert, (once in Vegas many, many moons ago, twice at the Fillmore) and he is fucking amazing. And as someone who only recently became obsessed with Amarilla and Avenues and Alleyway, I'm really jealous of you getting to see Tony Christie. (It is that Tony Christie, right?)

Plus Spinal Tap? Loads of fun. Cannot wait for your report.

The very same Tony Christie! They have a good mix of oldies and new bands this year. And I can't wait to see Tom Jones. He's right up there with how much I wanted to see James Brown, and I'm so glad to have caught him when I could :)

I assume a big open-air situation like that you won't get close enough to toss the panties. :)

I usually hit Victoria's Secret before the concert so I have some fresh ones to throw.
