I've had three trips to the movies since this time last week, and I think it's about time I rounded up the films I've watched in the past month or so. Ten words, as is my want, to sum them up. Non-spoilery. For further details, apply within.

Moon - Unlike anything I've seen before. Sam Rockwell's great. Also, MATT BERRY!

Dorian Gray - Firth was fantastic. Dorian a little too flat. ZOMG SLASH!

The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus - Either poetically beautiful or pretentious nobcheese. As yet still undecided.

Zombieland - Unrelentingly wonderful. Hilariously gruesome, funny, sweet and touching. Watch it!

Up - Touching in places. 3D didn't add much. I love Dug!

Drag Me To Hell - Screamed like a girl. Laughed my arse off. Good fun!

Films that I see in my future include:

Men Who Stare At Goats

A Serious Man

Planet 51

Sherlock Holmes

Nightmare Before Christmas 3D, if it's out near me that is

Cirque Du Freak

Fantastic Mr Fox

Looks like it's going to be a busy few weeks for movie-going...

In other news, it's been a while since I succumbed to a meme. So I'll put this one out there.

Ask me 3 questions, no more no less. Ask me anything you want  - personal, fandom-related, completely random. Ever wanted my view on the meaning of life? Ask away! I reserve the right to answer any way I please, but I will answer . Then post this on your own journal.

Or not. It's entirely up to you. I ain't no meme fascist and I won't be checking.

I liked your mini-reviews! I haven't seen those yet but I want to see them all, especially 'Moon'. Thanks for the reminder (I always want to see so many movies and then forget).

And I agree - 'Drag me to hell' was so much fun!

I like constrained word limits. I try to do all my reviews in ten words. It helps me distil my views.

Drag Me To Hell was a riot. Talking goats FTW! Moon is good too, though. Totally different kind of film, but awesome in its own way. It kept me gripped right to the end.

1. Which fandom that makes you the happiest right now? (In other words your participation and interaction with other fans, rather than the source material itself.)

2. What is your favorite Life On Mars moment?

3. If you could have your dream fic, for any fandom i.e. pairing, plot, style etc, what would it be?

1) The fandom I'm currently enjoying most in terms of playing with others is the Star Trek reboot RPF fandom. Everyone there is gracious, there's little if any bitching and it helps that most of the fic is pretty good too.

2) My favourite Life On Mars moment is probably most of Episode 4 of season 2, where Annie and Sam pose as Tony and Cherie Blair to go to the swingers party. Annie shows herself to be a kickass vixen, they are lovely together pretending to be a couple and Gene makes me laugh every time when he shows up and starts going about things in his usual cack-handed way.

3) My dream fic is one that I have requested on various anon kink memes but it seems no-one is as perverted as me in this respect and so it remains unfilled. Zachary Quinto and his older brother Joe, Zach topping, preferably with Joe pleading with Zach to do it and extra win points for Joe coming only from Zach fucking him and no other stimulation. Too specific? That might be why no-one wants to fill it! Well that, plus the fact that I am fully aware that RPF incest is a VERY minority interest...

#2. Never has Sam been so adorable as when he *winces* at the word "Santana" followed by the unholy cackle I always let out when he introduces Gene as his "Good friend, Gordon Browne."

I haven't read any of RPF Reboot fic, mostly because I haven't read much of the reboot fic itself, but I do get a good vibe and lots of people I really like are involved. As for three...well...no promises, but you'll never get it if you don't ask, right?

The fic in the Reboot RPF fandom is pretty good. I almost spent more time watching interviews with Chris Pine and Zach Quinto on the press tour than on watching the movie itself.

Almost...

And I agree with the don't ask, don't get theory. Which is why I keep asking :)
