I was tagged by
karaokegal, and since she hardly ever tags anyone I figured it must be important ;)
I don't normally tag either. I'll tag, but no-one should feel compelled. Tis merely a suggestion.

Who sleeps in bed next to you?
Mr G. I also have a cuddly Totoro who sleeps between our pillows.
What did you last eat?
Veggie Lincolnshire sausages with mashed potato, mushy peas and gravy in a Yorkshire pudding.
What kind of books do you read?
I love vampire books. I have the Darren Shan books to take away on holiday with me. I say that I dislike fantasy novels, but I guess that's not really true since the Northern Lights books were possibly some of my favourite books ever and I also enjoy Terry Pratchett. I like sci-fi books, and also enjoy things that expand my mind. I'm dipping in and out of The Unbearable Lightness of Being at the moment in between Jeffery Deaver's The Bone Collector and other activities.
If you could be anywhere right now, where would it be?
In my warm bed in my warm bedroom. Living in a house with no working central heating sucks big dog's cock.
What's really creepy?
Children's choirs singing in horror movie soundtracks. The sound of traditional carousel music.
Name one odd item within five feet of you.
Nothing particularly odd in terms of a single item. However, there are five computers within five feet of me. I'm in my lounge.
What's your current fandom / obsession / addiction?
My predominant fandom dares not speak it's name. If I were to speak of one out loud, then it would probably be Star Trek RPF. My current obsessions are Zachary Quinto; Star Trek; Tyler Shields' photography; knitting and crochet. My main addiction is to Jasmine green tea.
What did you really want to do today that you didn't?
Not feel like a failure.
What are you most excited for?
Our holiday. We're off to Vietnam in 13 days time.
What websites do you always visit when you go on line?
LJ, Facebook [just to play the Scrabble]. That's about it these days.
What was the last thing you bought?
Some Christmas presents. A cookbook of doggie treats for my friend SJ, and a gold mesh single cup coffee filter for Mr G.
If you could have any pet, what would it be?
I already have a dog and two cats. I don't feel the need for any others.
Your past life: Tell me about it.
I grew up fat, bespectacled, studious, ginger and excessively tall and attended a comprehensive school in the middle of one of the roughest council estates around. I was teased and taunted mercilessly throughout my secondary education, a situation that continued when I went away to university and still found that people jeered at me in the street.
I studied hard and got a good degree, but I hated university life. I didn't seem to get on well with people of my own age. The petty bickering and one-upmanship got me down and eventually at the end of my first year and pissed off with the ongoing popularity contest that was finding people with whom to move in with when we left halls of residence, I said a big "fuck you" to all of them and moved out with a bunch of people I didn't know.
The only person I met during my university years that I'm still in contact with is Mr G. We didn't get together as soon as we met, but we've now been together for 12 years.
What do you want right this minute, off the top of your head?
A hug.
Where is the place you like to return to in order to calm down / relax / etc.?
Ogmore beach. It's relatively deserted and can be quite bleak. I find it attractive in it's sparseness.
How many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll centre of a Tootsie Pop?
A whutnow?
What's something you'd like to say to someone right now?
You said you felt shut out so I've tried being honest with you. But you can't handle the truth. From now on you will get what you want to hear. And it kills me.
Are there any bits of childhood that you miss?
Not really.
Say something to the person who tagged you.
I don't think you failed at your Come As You're Not costume. I think it was brilliant.

FIRST: If you've been tagged, you must write your answers in your own LJ and replace any question that you dislike with a new, original question.
SECOND: Tag eight sexy people. Don't refuse to do that like a pansy. Unless you really don't want to of course. And if you're not tagged and you want to do it, then do!
I don't normally tag either. I'll tag, but no-one should feel compelled. Tis merely a suggestion.

Date: 2009-11-16 03:06 pm (UTC)The fandom that dare not say its name is certainly intriguing.
PS - Have you written Life on Mars fic? I hear that fandom calling my name.

Date: 2009-11-16 04:47 pm (UTC)Fandom that dare not speak it's name refers to a very taboo pairing. Two real life brothers. My shame does not seem to be able to stop me shipping them in extremely porny ways.
I have written LOM fic. Mostly slash, a few drabbles, one of them very cracky, one full-length threesome. Check out the tag (http://filthgoblin.livejournal.com/tag/life+on+mars) if you want a browse. Oh, and as for the comm/fandom. Can't say enough good things about them. It has some awesome writers, some brilliant stuff in the archives and I have never experienced any unpleasantness, snark or wank. In fact, the one person who tried to bring the wank got roundly and politely ignored until she went away. Wish I could say the same for some of the other fandom circles I've been known to move in...
