The Fandom Pairing Meme

51stcenturyfox, because there's not been enough of fandom in my journal of late.
10. Life on Mars, Sam/Gene These guys were probably the first pairing I fell for really hard. I've written a couple of bits for them and there's some awesome writers in the fandom and whilst I haven't read a lot recently, I still love this pair.
9. John Simm/Philip Glenister I particularly love that this dynamic in RPF, for me, reverses what we see in Life on Mars. Whilst Gene was the gruff Northern bastard and Sam the relatively softly spoken, sensitive character in the show, in real life it seems to me that it's Phil who is the quiet guy whilst John really isn't backwards in coming forwards with what he thinks. Combine that with the fact that Phil seems a little bit insecure about himself on times, dismissing his own attractiveness, and it's a winning pair for me.
8. New!Who, Doctor/Master I have enjoyed writing this pair, and I occasionally enjoy reading it too. However, I think that just about every aspect of the pairing has been done for me now and it would take something pretty exceptional to bring me back into reading it. There's only so much D/s-lost-year-trapped-on-the-TARDIS stuff one can read without it getting a little bit samey.
7. Matthew Bellamy/Dominic Howard [off've the band Muse, for the uninitiated] I love these guys. Their personalities come across so strongly in the interviews and stuff that they do, and they are so gay for each other it's not true. Again, constraints mean that I'm not reading all that much in the fandom any longer, but I am still keeping up withebonystar's current series because it's astoundingly well written and the hot bits are exceptionally hot.
6. Being Human, Mitchell/Herrick I love the back story between these two. There's clearly a lot of need and hurt there, dependence and rejection. I'm still working on a fic that looks at the back-story of Mitchell and Herrick, and some time before hell freezes over I hope to finish it.
5. Being Human, George/Mitchell Not really much I can say about these guys, other than they are so great together. Two things - the bit where they jumped the couch together and seemed like they were going to kiss to try to make it look like they were busy rather than spying on Annie and the bit where Mitchell tells George to get his lead make me giggle and guh all at once :)
4. Life on Mars, Sam/Annie/Gene Probably my OT3. I read a fandom secret recently that praised the LoM fandom for not demonising Annie in their shipping of Sam and Gene and it's so true. And because I like to see the girls get involved, I like when Annie joins in...
3. John Simm/David Tennant Probably some of the hottest stuff I've written has been for these guys. I can visualise them together so well. Although that might be due to the amount of time I've spent doing just that. *ahem*
2. Star Trek, Kirk/Spock [Reboot version or TOS, I'm really not fussy :D] What can I say? The unstoppable force meets the immovable object. The original and at the moment in my mind this is right up there with the best. The fact that Chris Pine's Kirk looks so pretty when Zachary Quinto's Spock is trembling with barely restrained emotion whilst choking the life out of him is quite another matter. And brings me on to...
1. Chris Pine/Zachary Quinto These boys set my loins on fire. Seriously. I've been sending myself batshit insane of late with my inability to stop imagining them fucking each other in every possible way you can think of. And the glut of exceptional writers out there who clearly do the same really isn't helping with my sanity.
I'd also like to put a shout out to a whole bunch of other pairings that I ship but don't write or read for as such: Spaced made me fall in love with housemates Tim and Daisy; How I Met Your Mother is currently making me ship Robin and Barney; and whilst I've never read any of the fic, Dexter [of Dexter fame :p] and Lila have SUCH hot, hot angrywrong sex potential over and above what they had on the show.
Um, I think that's it. I could go on, but that covers most of my bases, I think :)
